What we measure
We record use of the timeline: which stop was viewed, how long it was held, whether autoplay drove it, focus-mode openings, shares and prints. These events tell us where reading stops. They are not tied to an identity.
What you give us
An email address in two cases: if you ask to be told about a new issue, and if you post a comment. Both are confirmed by a link, and nothing happens without that click. A subscription address is used for that notice only and can be withdrawn in one click; a comment address is used to confirm the comment and to make a block stick — it is never shown, and never added to a list. A comment left unconfirmed for seven days is deleted, address and all. Published comments are kept with their moderation decision.
How long things are kept
Reading events are deleted after thirteen months, desk sessions after thirty days, and an unconfirmed comment after seven. These are not intentions: all three deletions are carried out by a scheduled job inside the database.
Third parties
Videos are embedded in no-cookie mode; playing one still opens a connection to the platform’s servers. Map backgrounds come from an external tile provider. No advertising network is active at present.
Your rights
You may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to the contact address; requests are handled within one month.
